Dragonhill specializes in designing and making custom puzzles for museums, promotions and fund raisers. We have the ability to create the artwork for your puzzle and to manufacture it using 1/8" or ultra thick 1/4" plywood. We can do this faster and at lower quantities than anybody else and use our own wood box design for an added bit of interest.
Below is a very basic overview of the process to make a 2D wood puzzle. This can usually be just a couple hours for a simple puzzle to a week or 2 for more complex puzzles. Our 3D designs will take a bit longer to produce depending on complexity.
We do not have many size limitations depending on materials, puzzles can be any size from small all the way up to 5 feet or more. Many of our designs are very large, making them great eye catchers for your gift shop.

There is no fee for custom work and we have low minimums.
Our first stage is the idea and can start with a sketch.
Next we will make the initial artwork. It may seem funny looking but this is just the canvas for the next step.
Next step is refinement and adding detail. We start to add detail to the puzzle and get it closer to production.
Finally we cut the puzzle and check it for quality before packing.
